Each week we discuss a whole range of topics of current interest
Founded in September 2009, the Current Affairs Discussion Group meets every Tuesday at 12.30 in the Synagogue library. The original group has now expanded to over 20 interested people, and on any one week a good 10 of them will attend the meeting.
Each week the group discusses a wide variety of current affairs, events and topics that can range from immediate matters of political interest to local, national and international matters.
Topics to be discussed are introduced by the facilitator – Raymond Hart – and added to by those attending the meeting. A weekly email about all adult education activities for the week to come (including current affairs) is circulated and if you wish to be included in that mailing please advise Raymond (firstname.lastname@example.org). The group is open to all age groups within the community and includes former journalists, engineers, member of the IDF, business people, lawyers, people from the medical field, carers, local government councillors and bankers. The only guideline is respect for each other.
Please bring your own lunch (food to be acceptable within a synagogue – vegetarian only please) and this is a no charge event.
