Young Adults

Here at The Wimbledon Synagogue we have a very active and dynamic group of young adults. So if you are aged between 20 and 40 in South London, you’ll find us a very welcoming community.

Shabbat Dinner for Young Adults every 3rd Friday of the month

You’ll be able to book your place at the next event by clicking this link.

Our young adult group organise monthly Shabbat meals.

The meals attract around 30 people from many different backgrounds. They have a relaxed and intimate vibe, where everyone feels welcome.

If you’re new to the area or interested to see whether Wimbledon/ South London has what you are looking for, then pop along to one of our meals. It is a really great way to meet other young Jews.

“I love the uplifting service, the delicious food, good wine, games, and meeting new friends”

– Ana Bursack.

The dinners are preceded by a Kabbalat Shabbat service at 7:30pm, open to all members of the community.

The dinner starts around 8:30pm with Kiddush, followed by a delicious 3 course meal with wine. All the food is vegetarian or fish, with vegan options available. We vary the theme every month with popular past themes being Mediterranean, Persian, Sushi & Cocktails, and Ethiopian.

The meals cost £10 and you can book tickets online beforehand. We do not accept payment on the night.

If you have never been to a Kabbalat Shabbat service before then definitely try it out! If services are not your thing, you can just come along to the dinner at 8:30pm.

The community is a diverse mix of talents – we have actors, doctors, teachers, graphic designers, economists, artists, entrepreneurs, consultants, lawyers, and many more extraordinary people amongst our ranks.

We are currently exploring setting up new programmes in social action, Jewish learning, and other kinds of social events so if you have any ideas please let us know.

We love new ideas and new members. Help contribute to the building of an inspiring South London Jewish community for young adults! Just click this link to book.
