Israel

Israel is of profound importance to every one of us as Jews, and its existence has undoubtedly had a profound effect on our experience of what it means to be a Jew in the modern world.

The Israel group fosters knowledge of and appreciation of Israel and its importance in the development of Jewish society worldwide and believes that Israel is important to the diaspora and vice versa. It seeks to bring greater knowledge of what is happening at all levels of Israeli society by fostering links and development of understanding. 

To this aim it works with the RSBG and the UJIA. Fund raising is an important part of its activity for recognised charitable institutions in Israel such as hospital and social causes. There are strong links with Emek Hospital in Afula and it is hoped that other links will be developed including twining with a reform community.
