Jewish Art & Literature Group
Our Jewish Art & Literature classes normally take place on Friday mornings from 10am and 12.00.
When the Friday morning Art & Literature group that has been meeting regularly for some years under the aegis of Irene Wise and Aviva Dautch discovered that neither would be available this year a decision had to be made what to do. Carry on or disband? On the 10th June an open meeting was held and under the Chairmanship of Raymond Hart and the input of co-ordinators Orli Raz-Rhodes and Lorraine Samuels and other regulars a programme for the next few months was suggested. It was also decided to include a book club within the format so that every four to five weeks the group would meet to discuss their views on a chosen book. The programme essentially consists at the moment of some visits to outside places of interest, talks in the Library organised by our own members and the book club. Below is the weekly list of what was agreed so far, with home activities taking place, as before, on Friday morning at 10.30 a.m. in the Library. The small cost of £2.00 per member and £3.00 per non member (including refreshments but excluding the cost of books and outside visits) will cover expenses and hopefully build up so that if necessary outside lecturers can get an honorarium at least.
