Jewish Care In W&DS
Stephen Ison from Jewish Care is the Community Support Practitioner for South London, working with both Jewish Care and Nightingale House.
Stephen attends the Food For Thought lunches where he meets with members of the community but, should a specific need arise at that time he can then arrange to meet with those concerned again if more time is needed.
Jewish Care is a charity providing health and social care for people in the Jewish Community and is the largest provider of health and social care services for British Jewry. Stephen is very keen to try and make more use of Jewish Care's expertise for the benefit of the South London Jewish Community, and can provide an additional service to our own welfare volunteers.
He provides a range of advocacy and advisory services enabling the community to access health, social and cultural services. He will also liaise with community groups, local authorities and charity and voluntary sector organisations.
Stephen has many years experience in community and welfare support in the Jewish community and is looking forward to working with our community and other synagogues in South London. He will be based at Nightingale three days each week generally on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and he will be at Wimbledon Synagogue during our Food For Thought meetings.
