Cultural Events and Activities

The C.E.A. provides non-fundraising online and live daytime and evening events, including talks by guest speakers and our own members and outside visits and also occasional major events including plays and musicals.

Over the last year topics covered by our guest speakers have included Kinderstransport, Sir Jack Cohen of TESCO and “Plagues, Vaccines and Jews”.

We have also hosted authors of their new books on Britain Post Brexit, biographies of Robert Maxwell and Ethel Rosenberg and most noticeably distinguished historian Andrew Roberts on George III.

December saw the production of The Winslow Boy, principally by members of Wimbledon.

Forthcoming events include Antisemitism, our 2nd Question Time, this time with a panel including an orthodox alongside progressive rabbis.

Others will include Edwina Currie about her colourful career and on Jewish stately homes.

We also hold regular “getting to know you” sessions with members of the synagogue.

The committee very much hopes as many Wimbledon
members as possible will attend.
